The age of unreason, British scholar and consultant Charles Handy argues forcefully that each of us must take charge of our own careers and prepare for inevitable uncertainties and changes by building a "portfolio" of skills. This portfoli needs continuous development: each new job assignment must be well selected and rigorously pursued as a learning opportunity.
