Management Theories and Focus

On the learning "Management" by Stephen P. Robbins, I systematically conclude the Six Approaches of Managements till now from very original background of industrial revolution and Adam Smith's perceptions.

1). Scientific management, by Ferederick W. Taylor, Frank and Lillian Gibreth, focused on scientific methods;
2). General administrative theorists, by Henri Fayol and Max Weber, aiming at the entire organization;
3). Quantitative approach, or "Operations research, management science", with detailed quantity measurement;
4). Organizational behaviors, the earlier advocates including Robert Owen, Hugo Munsterberg, Mary Parker Follett, and Chester Barnard, forwarding the eyes on the working behavior and actions, it was originally coming of the "Hawthorne Studies";
5). Systems approach, in a system perspective. The basic types of systems are closed, or open (open-loop system);
6). Contingency approach, or "Situational Approach", highlighting the differences particularly in twenty-one century;

What we can do to cope with the new challenges, and blend and advance the management skills?

Two trends today and tomorrow must be considered in:
1). Customer service management and innovation;
2). Other factors including Globalization, ethics, workforce diversity, entrepreneurship, e-business, knowledge management and learning organizations, and quality management.

If we fail to plan, we actually plan to fail.So. Steps could be:
- Preparing,
- performing,
- fine-tuning, and
- adjusting to the every loop of success following P-D-C-A.

Or
- Learning,
- Adapting,
- Changing,

Or
- Planning,
- Organizing,
- Leading,
- Controlling.

Here we go, keep moving!
